Seaside Illusion is a video art project inspired by my moments of daydreaming at the beach. I often sit by the shore, staring at the waves, and let my mind wander into a different world. This video is a glimpse into that personal, imagined space, blending what I see with what I imagine. By weaving together these dreamlike visions with real-life scenes, the project offers the audience a fresh way to look at the everyday world around them, showing that there's more to ordinary sights than meets the eye.

 

To make the video more cohesive and engaging, I took several frames from the footage and transformed them into images. Using Disco Diffusion, I reimagined these frames in a different, dreamlike style, creating scenes that are both similar yet distinctly different from the original. Through careful editing, I aimed to ensure these transitions felt natural and seamless. In the final sequence, the shift from fantasy back to the real-world footage is meant to remind the audience that everything they saw was just an illusion. I also hope this video sparks the audience's imagination.
